We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to take charge of building our engineering function for a global manufacturing firm. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and setup of manufacturing facilities worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facility Setup: Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of manufacturing equipment at various international locations.
  • Team Management: Recruit and manage a team of skilled professionals from Taiwan.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with Taiwanese suppliers and vendors for equipment procurement.

The ideal candidate has experience in setting up manufacturing facilities, particularly in extrusion, flexographic printing, or winding processes. You will also be responsible for hiring and leading a team from Taiwan to build, update, and install equipment across our global sites.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (PEng an asset)
  • 7+ years of experience in setting up manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience in extrusion, flexographic printing, or winding processes an asset
  • Fluency in Taiwanese, Mandarin Chinese, and English.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent project management abilities.
  • Familiarity with international manufacturing standards and regulations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (50%)

The estimated salary for this role ranges from $125,000-$165,000, with bonus and benefits.
