About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychotherapist to join our team at Prince Edward County Counselling and Psychotherapy. As a Psychotherapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality therapeutic services to our clients, helping them to achieve their personal, social, and vocational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and patient outcomes, and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs, and develop personalized treatment plans to address their unique challenges.
  • Provide education to clients on health promotion, injury prevention, management, and treatment, as well as provide therapy and counselling services.
  • Implement treatment plans, and work collaboratively with clients to achieve their goals.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining accurate records and preparing progress reports.
  • Apply psychological theory and principles to inform your practice, and stay up-to-date with best practices in the field.
  • Develop and implement counselling and intervention programs to assist clients in determining their goals and means of achieving them.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Counselling or Psychology.
  • Provincial license or registration as a Psychotherapist.
  • Accreditation or registration with the appropriate national, provincial, or territorial professional association.
  • Experience working with clients with a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple clients and projects.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a private practice or community-based setting.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapies, such as CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic therapy.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
