We are seeking a highly skilled Underwriter to join our team at HUB International Canada West ULC (Canada West). As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting home warranty risks and managing client relationships with single-family builders and mid-size multi-family projects.
Key Responsibilities- Underwrite home warranty risks and evaluate builder requests for security requirements, terms, and conditions.
- Monitor builder and project progress, identifying changes in risk exposure and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Maintain a current understanding of home warranty insurance regulations in the geographical area of responsibility.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with builder clients.
- Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.
- Insurance agent's license in the province of employment (or ability to complete required courses and obtain the license).
- Experience in the insurance and/or construction and development industries.
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in Commerce, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Business Administration.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Effective working in a team and independently.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
