About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring seamless production processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, increase throughput, and meet cost targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion a Culture of Inclusivity: Foster a work environment where all team members feel valued and respected, prioritizing their well-being and safety.
  • Provide Training and Mentorship: Develop team members' skills, providing guidance and support to ensure they excel in their roles.
  • Monitor Performance and Provide Feedback: Regularly assess employee performance, delivering constructive feedback to drive growth and improvement.
  • Collaborate with Union Officials: Work closely with union representatives to maintain open communication and resolve any workplace issues promptly.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Partner with cross-functional teams to identify areas for enhancement, implementing process improvements that boost productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Proactively address challenges, working with internal and external departments to find comprehensive solutions.
  • Achieve Key Business Metrics: Coordinate activities to meet business objectives, maintaining high standards of safety and productivity.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Recognize the value of diverse educational backgrounds.
  • Flexibility and Availability: Willingness to work varied shifts, including overtime as needed.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Build effective relationships with plant leadership, union officials, and customers, leveraging diverse perspectives.
  • Multitasking and Self-Motivation: Capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously and take initiative when necessary.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Related Field
  • 2+ Years of Supervisory Experience
  • Mentorship and Development: Demonstrated ability to guide and develop team members.
  • Union Environment Experience: Prior experience working in a union setting, valuing collaboration and effective labor-management relations.
  • Continuous Improvement Systems and Lean Manufacturing
