About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Insurance Internal Audit to join our team at the Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our Internal Audit department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our risk management practices, internal controls, and corporate governance processes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Contribute to audit planning and ensure adequate coverage of key business processes to support an independent and objective assessment and opinion on the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management practices.
  2. Lead integrated audit teams in the planning, execution, and reporting of audits of various businesses within the Insurance platform.
  3. Develop, draft, and review recommendations relating to audit programs and sampling techniques.
  4. Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management practices, and governance processes to complete audit programs.
  5. Uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies through analysis of data sets and the use of visualization tools.
  6. Promote and assist management in self-reporting control issues.
  7. Respond to stakeholder needs quickly and efficiently, while building constructive relationships with Internal Audit peers and business partners.
  8. Contribute to the development of peers by providing direction and coaching; impart specialized skills to other audit team members through peer discussions and cooperation on integrated audits.
  9. Participate in complex and confidential/special audit projects enterprise-wide as requested by senior management of RBC Insurance.
  10. Stay up-to-date on organizational, regulatory, product, strategic, and financial changes and/or trends impacting assigned business platform.

Requirements

  1. Minimum 5+ years of experience in Insurance and Financial Services.
  2. Knowledge of insurance and financial industry regulatory guidelines and proficiency in auditing principles and techniques.
  3. Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with team members and senior stakeholders.
