Nurse Liaison Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Liaison to join our team at the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB) in Montreal. This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated nurse to provide exceptional patient care and coordination services.

About the Job

As a Nurse Liaison, you will play a vital role in coordinating and preparing visits for clients traveling to Montreal for specialized medical treatments. You will work closely with the Wiichihiituwin department to review medical consultations and reports, and act as a liaison between patients, hospitals, and communities.

Requirements
  • Education: DEC in nursing and member of the Order of Quebec Nurses (OIIQ)
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a nurse
  • Knowledge and Abilities:
    • Knowledge of Cree culture and language, and social/health issues in Eeyou Istchee is an asset
    • Interpersonal relationship and leadership skills
    • Dynamism and self-confidence
    • Capacity to be autonomous, flexible, discrete, empathetic and to take initiatives
    • Capacity to work under pressure
    • Sense of observation and self-control
    • Critical thinking, organizational and decision-making skills
  • Language: Fluent in English and French; fluency in Cree is an asset
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is approximately $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on the location and industry standards. As a valued member of our team, you will also be entitled to additional benefits, including an isolation premium, retention premium, reimbursement of moving and storage fees, and two return flights per year for the employee and their dependents to visit their affiliate community.

Other Requirements

Select candidates must successfully complete the following training: Administration of epinephrine for severe allergic reactions of the anaphylactic type (4 hours). On-call duties may also be required.
