About the Position

This is a full-time position with a 12-month renewable contract. As an Editorial Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing scripts for accuracy, style, balance, and conformity, working closely with directors, producers, and other stakeholders to safeguard the reputation of all written content.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and edit scripts to ensure accuracy, style, and consistency
  • Collaborate with other team members to determine the most creative and editorially accurate solutions
  • Verify accuracy of all components of programs, including graphics and other on-air editorial elements
  • Correctly format scripts and view video and graphics to ensure scripts and images are in sync
  • Take a proactive and diplomatic role in many aspects of program preparation
Requirements
  • English as a first language speaker with a valid passport
  • At least 2 years of related experience with strong editing skills, including accuracy, balance, language, and style
  • Ability to produce quality work quickly
  • Flexibility to adapt during breaking news and ability to adapt to program or anchor style and rewrite when necessary
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding live/24-hour news environment
  • BA degree or above
