Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Manager to join our team at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. As a key member of our Financial Services department, you will play a critical role in supporting the Associate Director and leading designated initiatives that drive business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic financial plans and budgets to drive business growth and success.
  • Lead complex analytical services to support the Institute's strategic financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Liaise with stakeholders across the Institute to provide tools and training for budget planning, promote understanding of budget planning processes, and provide input and feedback on budget development.
  • Manage day-to-day business intelligence services to provide meaningful analysis, trends, and insights to business performance, opportunities, risks, impacts, and solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Systems & Reporting team to ensure the necessary technology is in place to support budgeting, forecasting, and business intelligence activities.
  • Manage directly reporting staff, including selection, coaching, mentoring, development, performance management, and all other people-management practices.
Requirements
  • Professional accounting designation combined with a relevant degree.
  • Minimum 6 years' experience, at progressive levels of responsibility, providing budget and forecasting-related analysis and providing business intelligence services.
  • Strong knowledge of the concepts, theories, practices, and methods of financial analysis and business intelligence, with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, analysis, and related reporting.
  • Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and related technologies.
  • Strong business acumen, organization skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to liaise with stakeholders across the Institute.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to manage complex analytical services to support the Institute's strategic financial planning processes.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate directly reporting staff.
