Job Summary

The Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a highly skilled Application Support SRE to join our team. As a key member of our Technology and Operations group, you will be responsible for the support, development, and implementation of Site Reliability Engineering solutions for all applications within the bank.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide production support for applications, including off-hours support and incident management.
  • Develop and implement SRE solutions, including monitoring and alerting, machine learning anomaly detection, self-healing, and reliability testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability and uptime of applications, as per service level objectives.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting, anomaly detection, self-healing, and reliability testing for applications.
  • Support the adoption of automation solutions for applications.
  • Apply design-thinking and agile mindset in working with SREs, Scrum Masters, and partner team leads.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of related experience in Application support, Software development, and Operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry practice with a focus on SRE.
  • Experience in a variety of environments, including Linux, Windows, Databases, Cloud, distributed and mainframe, business workflows, and Services/APIs.
  • Hands-on experience in SRE languages and tools, including Ansible, Dynatrace, Moogsoft, PagerDuty, ServiceNow, Elastic, Logstash, Kibana, Blue Prism, Catch Point, and Grafana.
  • Effective negotiation skills and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication skills, direct style.
