Pastry Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Pastry Cook Helper to join our team at Gateaux Galore. As a Pastry Cook Helper, you will be responsible for assisting our pastry cooks in the preparation and production of high-quality baked goods.
Responsibilities:- Assist pastry cooks in the preparation and production of baked goods, including measuring ingredients, mixing, and baking.
- Ensure food safety and handling practices are followed at all times.
- Transport raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials as needed.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies.
- Collaborate with the pastry team to achieve production goals and deadlines.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a bakery or food production environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Work in a bakery environment with exposure to flour, sugar, and other ingredients.
- May be required to work in a hot kitchen environment with exposure to heat and steam.
- May be required to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- English is the primary language of communication in this role.
- 40 hours per week, with flexibility to work overtime as needed.
