Pastry Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Pastry Cook Helper to join our team at Gateaux Galore. As a Pastry Cook Helper, you will be responsible for assisting our pastry cooks in preparing and baking a variety of sweet and savory pastries.
Responsibilities:- Assist pastry cooks in preparing and baking pastries, including measuring ingredients, mixing dough, and loading baking sheets.
- Transport raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials as needed.
- Check products and packaging for basic quality defects and report any issues to the pastry cooks.
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining the bakery area, including equipment and utensils.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity and attention to detail.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a bakery or food preparation environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Work in a bakery environment with exposure to flour, sugar, and other ingredients.
- May be required to work in a hot kitchen environment with exposure to heat and steam.
- English is the primary language spoken in the workplace.
- 40 hours per week, with flexibility to work overtime as needed.
