About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to join our interdisciplinary health professional team. As a Medical Nutrition Specialist, you will be responsible for directing and providing nutrition care and education to patients. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing patient-centered, goal-focused care plans that optimize clinical and fiscal outcomes.

In the ambulatory setting, you will provide patients with effective, evidence-based strategies to self-manage disease, reducing hospital admission rates. By ensuring optimal nutrition status for patients requiring hospitalization, you will enhance medical management, leading to improved clinical outcomes such as decreased infection rates, length of stay, and readmission rates.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with a B.Sc. in Nutrition/Dietetics and completion of an approved Dietetic internship. You must be licensed with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists and have a strong commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices, and organizational health. Experience with group education and competencies in other languages, particularly French, are assets.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, full-time position with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. Shifts may include days, evenings, and weekends, with travel between sites required. The successful candidate will be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
