About the Role
The Saskatchewan Research Council's Rare Earth Element Division is seeking a highly motivated Research Technologist to join our team. This position will play a key role in assisting with research and development activities at our Rare Earth Processing Facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the design, development, testing, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and control systems for various research and development activities.
- Support the maintenance of LabVIEW-based software programs.
- Prepare samples for analysis, conduct routine laboratory tests, and assist with data collection and operation of laboratory and pilot-scale equipment.
- Coordinate logistics for materials and parts across various suppliers and SRC locations.
Requirements
- A diploma in mechanical, instrumentation, electrical, or design and manufacturing engineering technology; equivalent years of relevant experience without a diploma will be considered.
- Two to five years of experience in areas such as design and drafting, software programming, research and development testing, and hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems.

- Highly motivated with a commitment to continuous learning in an innovative work environment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow directions and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Aptitude for instrumentation, controllers, robotics, and machining.
- Basic fabrication skills and experience using hand and power tools.
This position will require a flexible schedule during active testing periods, including evening and weekend shifts. The chosen candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. This position is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
