About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and providing emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop plans to address these needs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program and current certification in Nova Scotia.
  • Medication Administration course required.
  • Geriatric and general medicine experience preferred.
  • Manual dexterity in performance of designated procedures.
  • Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
