Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at IWK Health.

Job Summary

The Medical Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This includes logging patient samples, preparing them for testing, and performing blood group, type, and compatibility tests for transfusion purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Log patient samples and prepare them for testing
  • Perform blood group, type, and compatibility tests for transfusion purposes
  • Collect samples and perform other laboratory tests
  • Work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure accurate and efficient testing
Requirements
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years
  • Experience in a clinical laboratory setting is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
