We are seeking a skilled Flooring Specialist to join our team at 1109608 B.C. LTD. As a Flooring Specialist, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining various types of flooring, including resilient flooring, hardwood flooring, and floor coverings.

Work Environment:

Our team works in a variety of settings, including commercial, industrial, institutional, residential, rural, and urban areas. You will be required to work in different locations, including employer's/client's homes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered
  • Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding
  • Prepare flooring plans and scheduling
  • Prepare tenders and quotations
  • Measure, cut, and install resilient floor coverings
  • Prepare and install hardwood floors
  • Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings
  • Conduct moisture, pH, temperature, and other tests prior to flooring installations
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Prepare floors for installations
  • Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants
  • Employ knee kickers and other equipment to stretch carpeting
  • Perform direct glue-down carpet installations
  • Perform double-bond carpet installations
  • Install resilient stair components (special effects for the visually impaired)
  • Install materials on counter tops and raised platforms
  • Install vinyl decking materials
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
Requirements:
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Ability to distinguish between colors
  • Hand-eye coordination
  • Physically demanding
  • Handling heavy loads
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling
