About the Role
Mackenzie Health is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in providing high-quality patient care. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering holistic, patient-centered care to children and families in our pediatric department.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a workload effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and making sound decisions to ensure quality care.
- Address and resolve issues in a productive and respectful manner, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Exercise sound professional judgment and use best practice guidelines to provide evidence-based care.
- Contribute to a safe and inclusive environment for all, adhering to patient and staff safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Current Certificate of Registration in the General Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certificate.
- 3-5 years of pediatric experience, with a strong understanding of Family Centered Care concepts.
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, and verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to deliver information and work effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated strong decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and adjust to new or unexpected events.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality care and safety, with the ability to exercise sound professional judgment and use best practice guidelines and evidence-based practice.
- Proven organizational skills, with the ability to manage workload effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to effectively address and resolve issues, including conflict, in a productive and respectful manner.
- Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively within an interprofessional team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an approved nursing program.
- Recent completion of a physical assessment course.
- Membership in the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO)/Canadian Nurses Association (CNA).
- Familiarity with Family Centered Care concepts.
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Obstetric or NICU experience.
