Job Title: Handyman/Woman

We are seeking a skilled Handyman/Woman to join our team at Obsidian Group Inc. as a key member of our facilities maintenance team.

Job Summary:

The Handyman/Woman will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our facilities, including sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors, operating industrial vacuum cleaners, and making minor repairs to heating, cooling, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Sweep, mop, and wax floors and stairs
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and dirt
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers
  • Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings
  • Make minor repairs to heating, cooling, and electrical systems
  • Perform other routine maintenance tasks such as painting and drywall repair
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work at various locations
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Working Conditions:

The Handyman/Woman will work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. The position requires the ability to work in all weather conditions and to lift heavy loads.

Security and Safety:

The Handyman/Woman will be required to undergo a criminal record check.

Language:

The primary language of work is English.

Work Schedule:

The Handyman/Woman will work 40 hours per week.
