Director of Shelters

Mission Services of London is seeking a seasoned leader to oversee their emergency shelter operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of calling and a proven track record in shelter management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and support to staff, participants, volunteers, and guests in emergency shelter sites.
  • Develop and implement programs and services that respond to participant needs and address emerging trends.
  • Ensure shelters operate with integrity, effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability to stakeholders.

Mission Services of London is a Christian faith-based social service agency dedicated to serving neighbors in need. With a focus on poverty, addictions, mental illness, and homelessness, they provide a range of services including food, shelter, clothing, crisis intervention, and shelter diversion.

Requirements:
  • University degree in a related field.
  • 8-10 years of senior-level leadership/management experience in a related field.
  • Not-for-profit/social service sector experience, including emergency shelter or 24/7/365 human services operations.
  • Proven ability to motivate and align diverse staff teams, with experience managing multi-sited teams an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and de-escalation techniques.
  • Agreement with the Statement of Faith and ability to model the Vision, Mission, and Values of Mission Services of London.
