Indigenous Journalist Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Indigenous journalist to join our team at Rogers Communications. As a key member of our news team, you will play a vital role in bringing Indigenous perspectives to our audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and produce high-quality news content for our television newscasts and online platforms.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities to identify and tell stories that are important to those communities.
  • Respond to breaking news situations and provide accurate and timely reporting.
  • Collaborate with producers, editors, and other team members to produce engaging news content.

Requirements:

  • A strong passion for news and storytelling, with a keen interest in local news and current events.
  • Experience in reporting on Indigenous issues and communities, with a deep understanding of the complexities and nuances of these stories.
  • A self-motivated and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with Indigenous communities and colleagues.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
