Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team as a Mental Health Liaison Nurse Specialist. This role involves providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and promoting person-centered care in the Emergency Department and MH&SUS zone.
Responsibilities- Perform psychosocial assessments, develop care plans, and provide crisis intervention and direct patient care to psychiatric patients.
- Collaborate with emergency department nurses, other healthcare providers, and the interprofessional community mental health team to adapt care plans and address psychiatric needs.
- Liaise with internal and external sources to receive referrals and provide guidance to nursing staff on caring for psychiatric patients.
- Evaluate psychiatric nursing care needs, provide direct care, and identify preventative, therapeutic, and rehabilitative aspects of care.
- Develop and modify individualized care plans in consultation with the interprofessional team and family members.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing and current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- One year recent related experience in an acute or community Mental Health & Substance Use setting or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
The estimated salary for this position is CAD $53,618 - $73,714 per year, based on the title, job description, and location. Our comprehensive benefits package includes extended health and dental coverage, pension plan, and paid time off.
