Technical Support Specialist for Computer Systems

TEAMS Transport is seeking a skilled IT Help Desk Technician to join their team in Winnipeg.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical knowledge, effective communication skills, and a patient demeanor when dealing with customers.

As a Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing assistance and support to Teams Transport staff related to computer systems, hardware, or software. This includes responding to inquiries, running diagnostic programs, isolating problems, and determining and implementing solutions within a defined scope of support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers requiring technical assistance via phone or email
  • Perform troubleshooting using various diagnostic techniques
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues related to hardware and/or software
  • Provide prompt resolution and exceptional customer service
  • Redirect unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
  • Supply necessary information on IT products or services
  • Keep records of problems and their resolutions
  • Follow up with customers
  • Offer feedback on processes and suggest improvements
  • Maintain technical documentation and service catalog on software installation, hardware configuration, and problem troubleshooting

Requirements:

  • Prior experience as an IT Help Desk Technician for at least 1 year
  • BA in IT, Computer Science, or a relevant field
  • In-depth knowledge of computer systems and mobile devices
  • Hands-on experience with diagnosing and resolving basic technical issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Customer-focused and patient

Education Requirements, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • At least 1 year of practical experience in a technical support position or recent technical education experience in a post-secondary environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and working with technologies such as Windows 11 & 10, Microsoft Office Suite (2010 & Newer), Windows Server 2008 R2, 2016 R2, 2019, Active Directory, DHCP, Terminal Services, and Office 365.

The estimated salary for this role is around $55,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
