Manufacturing Operations Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Production Supervisor to join our team at Arc'teryx, a leading outdoor apparel and equipment company.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for leading high-performing production lines, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and a positive work environment. As a key member of our production team, you will foster a culture of excellence, empower operators to achieve their best, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production planning, engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless operations and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency gains.
Responsibilities- Lead strong production lines, promoting a positive and high-performance culture through motivating, empowering, and enabling operators.
- Ensure relevant KPIs are set, communicated, and achieved on a regular basis, addressing issues and concerns proactively.
- Support frontline operators through regular one-on-one coaching, manage disciplinary actions, and document results as needed.
- Monitor and assess employee performance, provide feedback, and ensure timely training and workforce planning.
- Coordinate proper training for new and existing employees, fostering a collaborative team-based environment that promotes knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Efficiently plan work distribution, liaise with raw materials and planning teams, and prepare production plans to meet customer delivery dates.
- Proactively partner, communicate, and problem-solve with other departments to ensure continuous improvements in effective and efficient production.
- Effectively communicate and coach your team to manage daily production workflow, coordinate manpower, and ensure work equipment is properly maintained and managed.
- Promote a clean and safe working environment by following 6S principles.
- Track attendance and approve time off based on resource planning for your production lines.
- Review relevant data to understand production line performance, update DPU's, AQL, and SQDIP boards daily, and communicate performance effectively to your leader, peers, and direct reports.
- Use different software programs to monitor, update, and manage daily issues and data reporting.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned, including LEAN manufacturing, health and safety, best place to work, factory tours, and improvements.
- 5+ years' experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume frontline environment and 2+ years of progressive experience in a leadership role.
- Strong leadership ability and team-building skills with a diverse work group.
- Proficient English verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective organizational and problem-solving skills with a high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
- Ability to communicate and interface with cross-functional teams effectively with respect and tactfulness.
- Strong computer skills with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Microsoft Teams, ERP, and/or MRP systems.
- Proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions.
- Highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity.
- Able to balance autonomy and collaboration.
- Inspires breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement.
- Committed to doing what is right.
- Passionate about work and living outdoors.
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Business Administration, or another relevant field.
- Experience working in an apparel industry.
- Experience in manual and automation operations.
- Knowledge and experience working with LEAN, 6S, and KPIs.
$69,000 - $86,000 per year, CAD.
