Job Title: Food Service Supervisor

Avleen08 Ontario Inc is seeking a skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our dining services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work Term: Permanent
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
Key Tasks:
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure efficient food service operations.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures to maintain a high level of service.
  • Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation and manage inventory effectively.
  • Hire food service staff and ensure a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Prepare budget and cost estimates to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage to inform decision-making.
  • Prepare and submit reports to management to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Prepare food order summaries for the chef to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Supervise and check assembly of trays to ensure high-quality presentation.

  • Offers workshops, counselling services, or other resources to help Veterans navigate their transition into the civilian workforce.
  • Supports Veterans in translating their military skills and experience into the language of the civilian job market.
  • Offers flexible onboarding options to allow Veterans to gradually adapt to the civilian workplace.
  • Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
  • Applies hiring policies that discourage age discrimination.
  • Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers.
  • Offers phased retirement options that allow mature workers to gradually reduce their workload.
  • Offers phased re-entry options for mature workers who are returning to work after retiring.
  • Applies hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities.
  • Provides diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.
