Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter and Business Growth Specialist to join our Construction Surety team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, managing risk, and promoting our products to internal and external partners.
About the Role
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to identify cross-selling opportunities and drive business growth.
- Support senior leadership in credit analysis and underwriting recommendations to ensure optimal risk management.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Travelers' risk appetite and make informed decisions within your underwriting authority.
- Identify new business opportunities through consultative marketing and sales skills.
- Collaborate with management to execute regional sales plans and monitor assigned portfolios.
- Represent Travelers at industry-related functions and promote our products to external partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting preferred.
- Three to five years of surety underwriting or finance/accounting experience required.
- Strong financial acumen, including the ability to analyze financial statements and client operational history.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with broker partners and internal stakeholders.
- Able to manage complex and time-sensitive tasks efficiently and effectively.
Benefits
- Estimated annual salary: $85,000 - $110,000.
- Comprehensive health insurance package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- Retirement plan with a 3% core contribution and dollar-for-dollar matching up to 5% of base pay.
