Job Description

The Automotive Technical Training Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the Manager, Technical Training in developing and facilitating e-Learning and Instructor Led courses to enhance dealership technicians' knowledge and skills.

This position requires strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent organizational and time-management abilities. The incumbent will also support Subaru Academy by adapting or facilitating technical training for other dealer personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and deliver instructor-led courses in various locations, ensuring successful knowledge transfer.
  • Facilitate courses in other regions, as required.
  • Assist in designing, developing, and restructuring e-Learning courses, job aids, reference guides, and classroom training materials.
  • Oversee the Technical Training Centre's day-to-day operations and maintain assets such as vehicles, equipment, storage, and security procedures.
  • Configure e-Learning courses on Subaru Canada's Learning Management Systems (LMS), including testing for proper functionality.
  • Respond to requests for assistance from dealership employees regarding LMS access and navigation.
  • Promote and manage dealer personnel attendance at training events, including registration tracking.
  • Attend Train the Trainer sessions and events in Toronto, USA, or Japan.
  • Pursue ongoing training and education activities to improve technical product knowledge and presentation/facilitation skills.
  • Provide technical assistance or advice to other departments and dealers.
  • Participate in preparing and facilitating the Subaru National Technician Competition and other recognition events.
  • Prepare examination questions for the Technician Recognition Program and other Technical Training courses.

Qualifications:
  • Licensed Automotive Technician (Red Seal) required.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Valid passport with ability to travel within Canada, the United States, and Japan.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a technical automotive position within an OEM dealership; Subaru experience an asset.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems and course creation software is an asset.
  • Adept in digital proficiency with intermediate skills in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience delivering relevant instruction in a technical setting.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
