Accounting Manager

Our client, a reputable organization in the industry, is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join their team. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting cycle, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and leading the accounting duties.
Key Responsibilities:- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- General Ledger Management: Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the management of accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payments, and credit management.
- Payroll Administration: Manage payroll duties, including employee data entry, benefits administration, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Intercompany Reconciliations: Perform intercompany reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
- Tax Compliance: Assist with preparing and filing tax remittances, including GST/HST and corporate income tax returns.
- Financial Statement Preparation: Assist with preparing review and notice to reader financial statements, including audit and review engagements.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Examine accounting records, analyze financial documents and reports, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Education: Post-secondary education in accounting or business, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- CPA Designation: CPA designation would be considered an asset.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience performing full-cycle accounting, including financial reporting, general ledger management, and payroll administration.
- Industry Experience: Previous experience in the construction industry would be an asset.
- Software Skills: Experience with Sage and Jonas accounting software would be an asset.
- Soft Skills: Ability to work in a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and diligence, highly organized and focused work ethic, efficient and effective time management skills, strong communication skills, and ability to develop professional relationships.
