Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Trades Educator - Apprenticeship Instructor to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students as they prepare for apprenticeship-level examinations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic assistance to students in various programs, utilizing knowledge and experience to facilitate their understanding and preparation for Apprenticeship Level examinations.
  • Review and clarify content received from Program Instructors to ensure students have a clear grasp of the material.
  • Take direction from Learning Services and Program Instructors to identify effective strategies for supporting students with disabilities and other learners.
  • Utilize appropriate learning resources to enhance student engagement and outcomes.
  • Assist students in developing their study and organization skills, promoting independent learning and academic success.
  • Attend training sessions as required to stay current with best practices and industry developments.
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork in a timely manner, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with institutional policies.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports diversity and promotes student well-being.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience instructing at the Apprenticeship Level in the relevant subject matter area.
  • An Apprentice Level 4 certification and teaching experience, or Journeyman designation and teaching experience, in the subject matter area.
  • The ability to work effectively with individuals who require accommodations due to special learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and promoting inclusivity in the learning environment.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
