Technical Writer

Job Summary:

We seek a Technical Writer to join our product development team, working closely with engineers and certification teams. The successful candidate will design, write, and illustrate technical documents for new products and updates existing ones.

The ideal candidate will understand safety aspects, technical requirements, and installation procedures, communicating them clearly and concisely to enhance customer experience. They will ensure visual content and terminology are standardized across all product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce high-quality documentation, including installation instructions, data sheets, service manuals, reference guides, and product labels.
• Translate documents from English to French or vice versa.
• Work with project teams to gain product knowledge and documentation requirements.
• Familiarize themselves with products for installation, operation, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Participate in physical validation of installation and replacement procedures.
• Review product operation and interface to validate instructions.
• Participate in design reviews to understand documentation impact.
• Produce and modify illustrations.
• Use CAD files to develop exploded views and other illustrations.
• Manage documentation using PLM software.
• Identify emerging tools and practices, proposing their implementation.

Requirements:

• Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written).
• Training in mechanical engineering, translation, computer graphics, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant experience in technical writing and/or computer graphics.
• Knowledge of Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Office Suite knowledge.
• CAD software experience an asset.
• Excellent mechanical sense, spatial vision, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Spanish knowledge an asset.

Compensation:

$65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits.
