Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Labour Relations to join our People team. As a key member of our organization, you will support our villages with labour relations management, grievance resolution, and compliance training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Labour Relations Management:
    • Provide trusted advice on labour relations matters, including collective agreement interpretation and dispute resolution.
    • Document and communicate outcomes to ensure smooth implementation of agreements.
  • Grievance and Dispute Resolution:
    • Investigate and resolve grievances in partnership with site leaders and union representatives.
    • Represent the organization at arbitrations and labour board hearings as needed.
  • Compliance & Training:
    • Ensure compliance with provincial labour legislation, including the Ontario Labour Relations Act and Employment Standards Act.
    • Stay updated on labour-related trends and legislative changes, recommending policy adjustments.
    • Deliver training and resources for leaders on collective agreement administration and effective labour relations practices.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Labour Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in labour relations, preferably in healthcare or senior living sector.
    • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, and regulations applicable to long-term care sector.
    • Interpersonal skills with ability to foster strong relationships with others.
    • Accuracy and attention to detail in work and documentation.
    • Oral and written communication skills, proficiency in computer systems.

    Estimated Salary

$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
