Community Safety Advisor Role

A Community Safety Advisor plays a vital role in promoting community safety and wellbeing. This position requires a consultative and facilitative approach, providing leadership and support in various capacities, including advocacy, education, convening, capacity building, and coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in crime prevention, community safety, and sense of safety
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote community safety and wellbeing
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to build capacity and address community safety concerns
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform community safety initiatives
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Diploma in a related field (Community or Social Development, Criminology, Public Administration, or equivalent)
  • Bylaw Enforcement and Investigative Skills education or equivalent
  • Experience in conflict resolution, communication, people management, project management, computer literacy, teamwork, and BC Drivers License - Class 5
  • RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance
