Your Opportunity:

Description:

As a Physiotherapist II, you will play a key role in coordinating physiotherapy and allied health clinical services. You will provide supervision and guidance to students and team members, working both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Your leadership skills will be essential in making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient and family needs, including assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up. You will also be responsible for advising team members on complex clinical cases and providing clinical leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and effective client care. Additionally, you will ensure that physiotherapy practice is evidence-based and aligned with Alberta legislation, regulations, professional standards, and AHS policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate day-to-day operations of an assigned service area
  • Monitor care delivery and identify service needs
  • Assist medical staff with caseload management
  • Complete chart audits and provide feedback to staff
  • Participate in program development and operational planning

Required Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program with related experience. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Basic Cardiac Life Support (healthcare provider level) from the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.

AHS Support:

Alberta Health Services is committed to supporting our Physiotherapists in their practice area and expanding their skillsets. All AHS Physiotherapists have access to a network of experienced clinicians across the province and can tap into this resource via email, phone, and virtual meetings. As we transition to our Provincial Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care), you will also be able to share patient information in real-time with senior clinicians to assist in providing high-quality care.
