About the RoleThis is a permanent position with a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. The successful candidate will be required to work 40-60 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime.
The ideal candidate will have a valid Class 1 or A driver's license and an Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. They will also have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently;
- Load and unload goods, ensuring that they are properly secured and protected from damage;
- Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition;
- Maintain accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption;
- Interact with customers, respond to their inquiries, and resolve any issues in a professional manner;
- Collaborate with central dispatch to receive and relay information about cargo shipments and delivery schedules;
