Operations Shift Supervisor Job Summary
At Tenaris, we are seeking an experienced Operations Shift Supervisor to join our team in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing shift operations in a production facility, directing employees, and ensuring productivity, quality, and safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage shift operations in a production facility, ensuring productivity, quality, and safety standards are met.
- Direct employees, providing guidance and support to ensure successful shift operations.
- Follow up on productivity, downtime, delays, and quality KPIs, identifying areas for improvement.
- Perform quality and safety inspections, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Interface with maintenance, safety, and quality departments to resolve issues and implement improvements.
- Manage safety and quality actions, ensuring timely implementation and follow-up.
- Report on daily productivity and delays, providing insights for process improvements.
- Analyze and provide solutions for critical failures, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
- Interface with ancillary departments, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Comply with Tenaris policies, procedures, and management standards, ensuring adherence to all laws and regulations.
- Proactively motivate, coach, and develop staff, managing HR-related activities in line with Human Resources norms and procedures.
Requirements:
- 10+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
- Mechanical design and drafting experience, with CAD skills an asset.
- Ability to perform failure analysis and provide solution-based ideas.
- Ability to manage and rotate in shift work, with a strong understanding of production schedules and workflows.
- Good knowledge of software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Previous experience in the Oil and Gas industry an asset.
- Intermediate Excel and Office skills.
- Safety and quality-minded, with strong follow-up and analytical skills.
