Clinic Nurse Role at Canadian Addiction Treatment Centres

The Canadian Addiction Treatment Centres (CATC) is on the lookout for a dedicated and empathetic individual to fill the role of Clinic Nurse at the Northern Treatment Centre. This part-time permanent position entails 15 hours of work per week, with a competitive pay rate of $29.00 per hour.


As a vital member of the dedicated CARE team, the Clinic Nurse will be tasked with implementing harm reduction strategies and providing supportive treatment for individuals facing opiate dependency. The preferred candidate will hold a Diploma in Registered Practical Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, along with prior experience in addiction care.


Primary Responsibilities:
  • Administer and dispense medications as prescribed
  • Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
  • Conduct ECGs, venipuncture, and monitor vital signs
  • Provide injections and maintain accurate documentation
  • Engage in communication with Physicians
  • Deliver comprehensive program information to patients
  • Update and manage patient records within the EMR system

Qualifications:
  • Active member in good standing with the College of Nurses in Ontario
  • Experience in addiction treatment settings
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR
  • Strong dedication to supporting individuals dealing with addiction
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
