About the Position

The Canadian Addiction Treatment Centres is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse to join our team as a Registered Nurse - Harm Reduction Program. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals struggling with opiate dependency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver harm reduction and supportive treatment modalities for patients with opiate dependency
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to plan, implement, and evaluate treatment plans
  • Dispense and administer medications as delegated by a licensed physician
  • Perform ECGs, venipuncture, urine drug screening, and other vital functions
  • Administer injections and ensure proper documentation
  • Communicate with physicians regarding patient needs and medical abnormalities
  • Provide comprehensive program information to patients and prospective patients
  • Schedule appointments, enter information, and manage data
Requirements
  • Completion of a Diploma in Registered Practical Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Previous experience in addiction treatment or a similar field
  • Member in good standing with the College of Nurses in Ontario
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Strong commitment to working with individuals living with addiction and mental health
  • Ability to establish therapeutic relationships with patients
  • Knowledge of Harm Reduction principles
