Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Systems Specialist to join our team at ABM Plumbing & Heating Services Inc. As an Apprentice Plumber, you will be responsible for assisting experienced plumbers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for plumbing projects.
  • Assist in the instruction of apprentices and provide guidance on plumbing techniques and best practices.
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings.
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
  • Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
  • Estimate costs and materials for plumbing projects.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to the required shape and size.
Work Environment

As a Plumbing Systems Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced environment with varying work conditions. You will be required to work in confined spaces, wet/damp environments, and at high-rise building construction sites.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the plumbing trade.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent client service.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and work in physically demanding environments.
