Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and coordinate College-wide strategic plans and activities, working closely with the Vice-President Academic and other senior leaders.
  • Provide expert strategic advice to the Vice-President Academic, the VP Academic Team, and other leaders throughout the College.
  • Lead the development of reporting frameworks and write report submissions on the College's Academic Plan, strategic initiatives, and key priorities.
  • Monitor trends in the post-secondary education sector and identify opportunities for funding or strategic partnerships.
  • Operationalize strategy and support all stages from concept to delivery, reinforcing a strong culture of academic planning and strategy.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Public or Nonprofit Administration, Strategic Planning, or Strategic Management, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of principles and concepts in planning, analysis, market research, policy, organizational design, change processes, risk analysis, project management, budgeting, and performance reporting.
  • Experience implementing, monitoring, and reporting on a strategic plan in a large organization.
  • Excellent formal writing skills, with experience drafting strategic documents, summarizing studies and broad findings, reports, and briefing notes for senior leaders.
  • Experience preparing and presenting strategic information to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong planning and analytical skills, with the ability to collect and present complex data and information within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster positive working relationships both internally and externally.
Assets
  • Experience in post-secondary education, government, public sector, or an organization of similar size and complexity.
  • Experience preparing funding submissions and securing funds.
  • Experience with direct government relations at provincial and/or federal levels.
