About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering CAD Designer to join our team in Kitchener, ON. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing and developing municipal infrastructure projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop municipal infrastructure projects, including road reconstruction, land development, stormwater management, and site plan design.
  • Work with surveying equipment, including GPS and total station, to collect and analyze data.
  • Collaborate with other CAD and GIS technical staff to work on complex data sets.
  • Ensure overall data quality and integrity.
  • Prepare civil design drawings and design calculations.
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for civil projects.
  • Prepare documentation for design projects and reports.
  • Undertake quality control procedures.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (or equivalent).
  • 2+ years of related experience in municipal civil engineering CAD/design.
  • Design experience with surface grading, watermain, sewer pipe networks, and detailed design.
  • Experience working with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Experience performing topographic surveys using a variety of surveying equipment.
  • Certified or eligible for certification as a C.E.T. and a member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and clients.
