Job Title: Transportation Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Design Engineer to join our team at Associated Engineering. As a key member of our transportation group, you will be responsible for designing and developing transportation infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop transportation infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, and public transportation systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure projects are constructed according to design specifications.
  • Develop and implement traffic management plans to minimize disruptions to traffic flow.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
  • Five years' experience in transportation design and development.
  • Registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge and experience utilizing traffic engineering software such as Highway Capacity Software, Synchro, SimTraffic, Vissim, EMME, and Visum are assets.
  • Working knowledge and experience utilizing drafting and design software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, and AutoTURN.
  • Applied skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data management systems such as Microsoft Access or SQL is considered an asset.
  • Experience in cost estimating, contract document preparation, contract administration, and construction inspection is considered an asset.
  • Experience on projects specifically with the Ministry of Transportation Ontario is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Skilled at analyzing and solving problems with and without supervision.
  • Fosters a positive attitude with commitment to working as part of a team.
  • Class G License and full-time access to your own vehicle.
