We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the IWK Health Centre. As a Staff Nurse in our Women's Ambulatory Clinics, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to women with a range of gynaecological and uro-gynaecological conditions.
Reporting to the Manager, Women's Ambulatory Clinics, you will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care. Your expertise will be essential in assessing and managing patients with complex gynaecological and uro-gynaecological needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to women with gynaecological and uro-gynaecological conditions
- Assess and manage patients with complex needs, including those requiring minor procedures
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Teach patients and families about their conditions and provide education on self-care and management
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
- Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) required
- Current successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support Level (BLS) Program within the last 12 months, or successful completion of a BLS Renewal Challenge Certificate, required
- Recent interview and health assessment skills required
- Ability to teach on a one-to-one basis required
- Demonstrated experience assisting physicians with minor procedures required
- Uro-dynamics experience an asset
- Recent experience and knowledge of Women's Health Issues
- Recent experience and knowledge of Breast Health Issues
- Recent experience in other areas of the Childbirth and Women's Health Care Team such as OR, PACU, Day Surgery, Pre-Admission, Post-Op Surgical unit considered an asset
- Competency in other languages considered an asset
