About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Claims Specialist to join our team at CareerBeacon. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in supporting our contract management operations across our portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate contract claims and provide technical opinions on their merit, based on contractual and project management documentation, costs, and budgets.
  2. Analyze contract and claim data to identify areas for improvement in contract management.
  3. Develop and maintain a claims registry, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytics.
  4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including contract management, engineering, construction, procurement, and legal.
  5. Support project teams and procurement by attending technical and commercial meetings with contractors to negotiate claims.
  6. Evaluate critical contracts prior to or during the award process to assess risks and define anti-claims strategies.
  7. Prepare reports on matters related to contract claims.
Requirements
  1. Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  2. P. Eng., MBA, CPA is desirable.
  3. Minimum of 8 years of experience in contract management or a related field.
  4. Subject Matter Expert in project budgeting, cost control, and planning/scheduling on large-scale engineering and construction projects in the resource sector.
  5. Subject Matter Expert in contract management, including contract modalities, measurement criteria, and risk apportionment on large-scale engineering and construction projects in the resource sector.
  6. Subject Matter Expert in claims analysis methodologies and procedures.
