Job Description

As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in facilitating the provision of optimal patient care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing ultrasound procedures in accordance with departmental standards to aid in patient diagnosis and/or treatment
  • Facilitating the provision of optimal patient care, observing and understanding hospital and departmental policies and procedures
  • Adhering to hospital mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality
  • Providing radiologists with high-quality imaging, accurate and complete preliminary technical impressions, and discussing ultrasound findings with the radiologist when necessary
  • Performing other duties related to the job classification as required

Job Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A graduate degree in ultrasound technology from an accredited program
  • ARDMS (CRGS) certification in abdomen and obstetrics and gynecology, with preference given to those who are also RVT (CRVS) or eligibility for registration with ARDMS (CRGS) within six months of the date of hire
  • Recent experience in a related area of responsibility
  • Able to perform breast imaging is an asset
  • Experience in general abdominal, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatric, vascular, and musculoskeletal ultrasound is an asset
  • Experience in ultrasound special procedures, such as biopsies, is an asset
  • FMF NT certification is an asset
  • Membership with Sonography Canada is an asset
  • Proven skill in the production of high-quality ultrasound images
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Additional Information

This is a full-time position, working 8-hour shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays. The position is eligible for the Employee Referral Reward Program, subject to certain conditions. This role is fully onsite, requiring direct patient care and interaction.
