Job Summary:

The Specifications Representative is a key role at Richelieu Hardware Ltd, responsible for promoting the company's brand and obtaining specifications for our products in the Ottawa/Gatineau region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in a specification lead role, developing solid relationships with architects, specifiers, and designers.
  • Position the company and products with A&D firms, resulting in specifications of Richelieu's vast list of products.
  • Primarily work in assigned geographic locations, from greater Ottawa up to Kingston.
  • Provide educational training on products and developments to the A&D community through product presentations, CEU, and Lunch and Learn activities.
  • Built and maintain a database, documentation, and call reports via High Gear (our CRM tool).
  • Become a technical support for specification inquiries.
  • Manage specifications throughout the life of the project.
  • Communicate with sales staff/management/project tracker for product sales coordination.
  • Promote the Richelieu brand to all facets of the design and specification channel.
  • Bring into focus the high-end products that differentiate cutting-edge designs.
  • Promote a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations and individual goals and focus on key drivers that impact success.

Requirements:

  • College degree in a related field or equivalent level of field experience.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a specification representative role.
  • Computer literate and experienced in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional attitude while being hands-on.
  • Can easily transpose strategy into action.
  • Result and action-oriented.
  • Dedicated to achieving the company goals and embracing Richelieu culture.
  • Teamwork, can work well with all levels of employees.
  • Good judgment and the ability to be calm in a fast-paced growing environment where demands can change very quickly.
  • Can handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Good analytical, planning, organizing, and monitoring skills.
  • Qualify prospects through effective networking/relationship-building.
  • Effectively communicate and solve problems.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) written and spoken.
