We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Journeyman/Woman Carpenter to join our team at Northern Sustainable Developments ltd.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to carpentry, including preparing layouts, measuring and cutting materials, assembling and joining wood and other materials, and building foundations and structures.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparation and Construction: Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools, and build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Material Handling: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Installation and Finishing: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
- Site Management: Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites, instruct apprentices, and supervise other workers.
- Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate.
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
- Work Environment: At heights, confined spaces, noisy, dusty.
- Work Setting: Construction, various locations, commercial, residential.
- Certifications and Licenses: Carpenter Trade Certification, First Aid Certificate.
- Transportation and Travel: Own vehicle, valid driver's licence.
- Physical Demands: Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, tight deadlines.
- Personal Suitability: Accurate, efficient interpersonal skills, judgement, reliability, team player, values and ethics.
- Work Term: Permanent.
- Work Language: English.
- Hours: 40 hours per week.
