As a Tenant Improvement Project Coordinator in our Vancouver office, you’ll play a crucial role in managing the intricacies of commercial construction projects. With a strong focus on technical knowledge and problem-solving skills, you’ll work closely with our Senior Project Managers to deliver high-end projects that exceed client expectations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Constructability and Design: Assist in submittal review, constructability review in documentation and on-site, requiring a deep understanding of construction principles and project details.
  • Project Manager Support: Provide assistance to Senior Project Managers, managing trade partners and projects as needed, with the potential to take on project management responsibilities individually.
  • Financial Management: Involved in monthly reconciliations, detailed analysis of invoicing, site progress, and financial profitability, ensuring projects stay on track against original budgets.
  • Contract Management: Issue contracts to trade partners, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Project Startup: Oversight of start-up documentation, insurance, bonds, WCB notices, and other critical project elements.
  • Project Documentation: Utilize Timberline and Microsoft software to manage labor, materials, equipment, cost coding, submittals, schedules, meeting minutes, change orders, and more.
  • Subtrade/Supplier Management: Manage trade partners and suppliers, mitigating issues that may arise during project execution.
  • Client Interface: Attend meetings with Senior Project Managers, architects, consultants, and clients to address project issues and maintain positive relationships.

  • Administrative and Organized: Ability to track budgets, change orders, field reports, and weekly progress reports, with meticulous attention to project organization.
  • Personable and Communicative: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain solid relationships with coworkers and clients.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary technical education (BCIT) or similar in construction or industry-related program - Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent.
  • Engineering or Architecture background is an asset.
  • Industry experience: 5+ years.
