Job Title: Security Guard

Paladin Security is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Guard to join our team at St. Catharines Hospital. As a Security Guard, you will be responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct proactive and reactive security patrols and respond to incidents in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistance.
  • Perform a variety of preventative and reactive duties, including interior and exterior patrols, to ensure the safety and security of the hospital and its surroundings.
  • Provide Use of Force/Restraint as required and directed under the Mental Health Act.
  • Provide security escort service to staff and visitors as requested.
  • Provide motor vehicle assistance to staff and visitors as required.
  • Accountable for keeping accurate logs and notebook entries of all shift activity and calls for service.
  • Investigate and follow-up on incidents, report writing, door opening requests, CCTV camera reviews.
Requirements:
  1. A Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
  2. Proficient in English (both oral and written).
  3. Degree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services would be an asset.
  4. Proof of double Covid Vaccination.
  5. Immunization Record (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and TB skin tests 1 and 2).
  6. Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification.
  7. Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB).
