Millwright Opportunity at Canfor

We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team at our Grande Prairie Sawmill. As a Millwright, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing complex mechanical systems, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our sawmill.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance on mill machinery and equipment.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical systems to identify and resolve issues.
  • Work effectively with a high-performance team to maintain equipment and ensure production efficiency.
  • Apply knowledge and skills to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and implement safe and reliable fixes.
  • Assist in creating a safe work environment for coworkers, customers, and site visitors.

Requirements:

  • Red Seal Certification as a Millwright.
  • Physical capability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • High degree of urgency and ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of the lumber or industrial manufacturing process (an asset).
  • Experience with welding procedures and equipment reliability (an asset).
