Property Lead, Rail Specialist

About the Role: WSP USA is seeking a highly experienced Property Lead, Rail to join our team in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a project or area's property portfolio, working closely with third-party agencies and project staff.
About the Role: As a member of our Rail & Transit team, you will have opportunities to develop transferrable skills, define processes, create execution plans, mentor junior team members, and be the technical lead for multiple projects/tasks. You will be supported by management to develop work plans and professional skills to become a strong leader in the consulting environment.
About the Role: You will be responsible for identifying property acquisition requirements, managing a project's property portfolio, and reducing financial, environmental, and reputational risk to a minimum. You will work with the project team to understand the effects on surrounding properties within the project boundaries and offer solutions on how to minimize disruption.
- Prepare and implement a Property Management Plan
- Manage a project's property portfolio
- Work with the project team to identify property acquisition requirements
- Lead the team in property portfolio optimization and minimization
- Lead property valuations exercises and prepare documents required for project estimation
- Work with other disciplines to understand the effects on surrounding properties
- Work with other disciplines to capture property acquisition timelines and create a schedule
- Identify risks associated with property acquisition and develop risk mitigation strategies
- Engage with project stakeholders to understand their needs and pursue their buy-in
- Prepare presentations, drawings, and internal workflows as necessary
About You: We are seeking a candidate with a university degree or college diploma in a relevant discipline, such as Law, Real Estate, Appraisal, Business Administration, Geography, or Urban Planning. You will have a minimum of 10 years of experience working in property acquisition or in large-scale public infrastructure projects. You will have knowledge of the property acquisition process for government infrastructure projects within Ontario, as well as experience with or knowledge of real estate principles and negotiation skills.
