About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Property Lead, Rail to join our team at WSP USA. As a key member of our Rail & Transit team, you will be responsible for managing a project or area's property portfolio, working closely with third-party agencies and project staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a project's property portfolio, identifying acquisition requirements and reducing financial, environmental, and reputational risk.
- Work with the project team to identify properties that will require property management and/or demolitions.
- Lead property portfolio optimization and minimization efforts, finding ways to reduce property impacts.
- Lead property valuations exercises and prepare documents required for project estimation.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to understand the effects on surrounding properties and offer solutions to minimize disruption.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for property acquisition.
- Engage with project stakeholders, understanding their needs and pursuing their buy-in for the project.
Requirements
- University degree or college diploma in a relevant field, such as Law, Real Estate, Appraisal, Business Administration, Geography, or Urban Planning.
- Minimum 10 years of experience working in Property acquisition or large-scale public infrastructure projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Property Acquisition Process for Government Infrastructure Projects within Ontario.
- Experience with or knowledge of real estate principles and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of alternative project delivery methods, including design-build and progressive design build.
